I am currently a PhD student and Graduate Research Assistant at Texas Tech University (TTU) in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, specializing in Ultra-Wide Bandgap (UWBG) semiconductor materials for photonics, flexible electronics, and advanced memory device applications. My research focuses on the design, growth (MBE), fabrication, and characterization of next-generation electronic and optoelectronic devices capable of reliable operation under extreme electrical, thermal, and high-power environments, with particular emphasis on III-Nitride and emerging oxide semiconductors. At Texas Tech University, I serve as a Member of the ECE Safety Committee (2025-Present) and Graduate Research Assistant (2023-Present), and previously as a Teaching Assistant (2023-2024). I have also been Entrepreneur Lead with the NSF (2023-2024), Treasurer of the Indian Student Association (ISA) (2024-2025), and Student Representative at the Hindu Temple of Lubbock (2024-2025).
I was an Interdisciplinary Research Scholar (Electrical Engineering & Physics) at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, Chennai, completing my Master of Science (MS by Research) under the supervision of Prof. Balaji Srinivasan and Prof. Sivarama Krishnan. My thesis research focused on “Devices for Photonic and Quantum Technologies through Femtosecond Laser Micro-Structuring,” which involved ultrafast laser–matter interactions, micro/nanofabrication, and the integration of functional photonic structures for quantum and optoelectronic applications. At IIT Madras, I served as President of the SPIE Student Chapter (2020-2022), Vice President of the Optica Student Chapter (2019-2020), and Coordinator Head of the Electrical Engineering Association (EEA) (2019-2020).
I earned my Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Electronics and Communication Engineering with First Class from Anna University, Chennai. My academic and professional trajectory reflects a strong interdisciplinary foundation spanning semiconductor device physics, photonics, ultrafast laser processing, nano/microfabrication, and MBE growth, with a long-term goal of advancing high-performance nanoelectronic, optoelectronic, and quantum technologies for real-world impact.
